Details on the Virtual Public Hearing

Fri, 03/13/2020

On Thursday, March 12th, the PSC announced that their night hearing in Docket No. 2019-281-S would be postponed until March 19th at 6 p.m. and would be a virtual hearing, rather than an in-person hearing. On Friday, the PSC released a press release detailing the process by which consumers could make their voices heard; you can download that release here

Essentially, from 8:30 a.m. on Friday, March 13th until 3:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 19th, interested consumers can call into 803.896.2639 to pre-register to testify during the night hearing. When you call, please provide your name, address, and phone number and you'll be preregistered for the hearing. PLEASE NOTE: You must preregister in order to testify on Thursday. On Thursday, you'll then be able to call in at any time to the hearing line at (888) 612-1053 to deliver your testimony for up to three minutes before the Commission.

If you're interested in just listening, you have two options: once the hearing starts, you can call in to the hearing line at (800) 410-4177. You can also watch the hearing via the Commission's livestream at this link

For a comprehensive explanation of the virtual hearing and an in-depth explanation of Palmetto Utilities, Incorporated's request, please review this document. Also, please note that the procedures of a virtual hearing are no different from those of a traditional public night hearing; you can refresh yourself on the procedures here

If you have questions about the hearing, please contact the PSC at 803.896.5100 or follow the PSC on Facebook and Twitter for up-to-the-moment updates.
