PSC Announces Procedures for Virtual Public Night Hearing

Mon, 05/18/2020

On Monday, June 22nd at 6 p.m., the Public Service Commission will be hosting a virtual public night hearing in Docket No. 2019-281-S. This hearing—their second virtual night hearing in the docket—will allow Palmetto Utilities, Inc. ratepayers to voice their opinions regarding the utility’s request for an increase of rates and charges. Testifiers will be able to deliver their comments via video conferencing or audio by calling the Commission’s testifying hotline. Everyone, whether testifying or not, is encouraged to watch the proceedings live at www.scetv.org/psc/ or by calling into the non-testifying line.

Anyone interested in speaking at this public night hearing must pre-register before June 22nd. The process for doing so is as follows:

  • From now until Monday, June 22nd at 3:00 p.m., please call into the PSC at 803.896.2639 and provide your name, physical address, telephone number, and email address. You will then receive a follow-up email with instructions for testifying. Please note that you must have a desktop computer or a laptop with a functioning webcam--mobile devices and tablets are not supported.
  • If you don’t have access to a computer with a webcam, you can call in to the public night hearing to testify through your phone. To do so, call into the PSC at 803.896.2639 before the 22nd and follow the testifying procedures above. Then, on the evening of June 22nd, call 1.800.622.9931 to enter the virtual public night hearing.
  • If you’re just interested in listening, rather than testifying, you can call 877.256.8247 on the evening of June 22nd.

If you’re having issues or need further information, please contact the Commission at 803.896.5100.
